What Makes This Different

Most DJs press play. I'll sing it live.

I'm a musician who DJs. Your first dance can be performed live — arranged for the two of you, in your style, at the length you actually want to dance for.

And if you want to keep it, I'll record your version properly in the studio afterwards, so the song from your first dance is something you can still play on your tenth anniversary.

No other DJ on your shortlist is going to offer you that.

★★★★★
"Ralph made an outstanding day even better with his music. He was professional and conservative, and kept the focus on the bride and I."
Jon & Hannah

'Wreck' became their first dance, then acoustic versions of 'Humble and Kind' for the mother–son dance and 'Sweet Child O' Mine' for the father–daughter moment.

★★★★★
"He asked us what we wanted for our couple's dance song, and when my wife sent him 'Tennessee Orange' to make a more formal cover with some lyric changes, he said no problem and got to work, sending us two different versions we could pick from. At the day of the event, he showed up well in advance and got everything set up, and his performance was excellent. I would highly recommend Ralph."
Braedon & Brenna

We swapped 'Tennessee Orange' for 'Utah red' and wrote in references to their relationship. Performed live for the first dance, and recorded so they keep it.

★★★★★
"Oh my goodness thank you so much Ralph we love it! We are excited to dance to this at the wedding! I'm so excited thank you so much! 😭"
Lauryn & Andrew

Lauryn came to us late in the planning. We modernised the classic 'Making Memories of Us' just before the wedding — performed live, and recorded.

Questions

What couples ask before they book

Is that really the whole price?

For most dates, yes. $895 covers the reception and $1,095 covers ceremony and reception, with no travel fee inside the Wasatch Front and no setup fee. The only things that add to it are the extras listed above, and those are your choice. Peak Saturdays in summer and early autumn are the exception and are quoted a little higher; tell me your date and I'll give you the actual number.

Do you MC as well, or just play music?

Both. I've seen firsthand how a good MC changes a wedding. I make sure your wedding runs well and you make the most of the months spent planning — introductions, timing the toasts, getting people out of their seats and onto the floor, keeping your photographer and caterer on the same timeline, and making sure you enjoy every one of your special moments.

How far do you travel?

Salt Lake, Utah, Davis and Weber counties are all included. Park City, Heber and Midway too. Further out is usually fine with a small travel cost, ask me on the call.

What if we want a specific song you don't have?

Send me the list. I'll get anything you want, and you'll also give me a do-not-play list, which I take just as seriously.

What's the live first dance actually like?

I arrange your song for the two of you: your style, your tempo, cut to a length you can comfortably dance to, and perform it live while you dance. Then the DJ set picks straight back up. It's $200 on top of either package, and it makes the first dance really shine.

How do we hold our date?

A signed agreement and a deposit of half the total amount.
